Hugs from Hootie and I -- a Tutorial

Happy Thursday, everyone!  This Julie today, from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers.  I have a tutorial to share on using a die cut in a different way.
First, the finished card, then, how I did it:

I used Crafty Sentiments Designs digital image  Hootie -- Rain, Rain, Go Away on this card.  He's ready for spring, that Hootie!
Here's how I made the card.
I started by coloring my image.  I almost always have the papers I plan to use close by to match the colors to it.  This image is colored with Copic markers.
Then, I chose what dies I wanted to use.  You can use this technique with a variety of shapes -- circles, square, oval, rectangle.  I chose stitched rectangles by Lawn Fawn.
I cut out the image with a large stitched rectangle, and placed it where I thought it would be.  It is not glued at this point, just set there.
Then, I placed a smaller stitched rectangle on the front of the card, using the inside image as a guide.  The inside one isn't glued because it's easier to adjust the inside one at the end, if needed.  Notice, I used washi tape to anchor my die -- works great!
Don't forget to open up your card before you run it through your die cut machine ;)
After you've cut the front, you can fasten the inside in, using whatever adhesive you prefer.
Now, the fun of decorating the outside of the card begins.  I kept the embellishing to a minimum, preferring to leave the focus on the adorable Hootie image and die cut card front.

Hugs to you from Hootie and I!

Coloring on Velum with Tobey Let's Pray

Hi all,

Deborah here to share with you how to color on velum paper and decorate a candle holder using small flameless candles.

For this project I used Tobey - Let's Pray. So below is the finished candle holder, the nice thing about using a flameless candle is that it can be used as a night light.

Here is the finished candle - All instructions are written on the pictures for you.

We begin with using an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of velum.
Stamp your image on the sheet. And turn over to start coloring.
(excuse my craft sheet is a little dirty)

Well I hope you were inspired by my Let's Pray Candle Holder.
I do stress to use a flameless candle so the paper does not catch on fire.
Plus, I like the flameless cause you can use this as a night light in a
child's room.

Thank you for joining me today. I invite you to also join in the Crafty Sentiments "Lots of Flowers Challenge".  Check out what the DT created for the challenge some beautiful cards. :D

Wishing you a great day and happy crafting.

Hello, crafters!!!

This Sunday morning, I want to show you a new Project, using different digital images from "Lollipop Dreams CD Rom", you can find it here:

This time, I want to celebrate Mother's day and for that reason, I made a digital card to congratulate her (my mother is the most important person in my life, I love you, mum!!!)
According to the Wikipedia, in my country(Spain), this day is 1st May, but in other countries the date is different, have a look here!

I used a precoloured image called Rose Fairy with a digital paper and a sentiment "Happy Days".

You can find all of them in the CD-Rom, please visit the Crafty Sentiments Design shop online and purchase it!!!

I hope you like my card and enjoy your Sunday!

See you soon!!!

Happy Easter!

It's the day before Easter, and this is Julie, from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers.  Since it is so close to Easter, I decided to go with an Easter-themed card.
This Crafty Sentiments Designs image is called, "Toby in Pot".  It was very fun to color with Copic markers, as there were quite a few different elements in this image -- Toby, pot, flowers, mushroom, grass, and butterfly.
Please check out the Crafty Sentiments Designs Shop to see all the delightful images and CD's. For a chance to win some great images of your own, enter your creations in the Crafty Sentiments Challenges each week.
Happy Easter to you all!

Rosie Spring Flowers

Good Morning All,

Deborah here bringing you all some Inspiration for Easter. I used an embossing folder and glitter to achieve my glittery paper look.

I used a technique with my embossing folder - Rub vera mark on the flat side of the emboss design, then run through your embossing machine, spread a heat 'n stick powder on top of the versa mark, heat the heat 'n stick powder til it is melted on the card, last add your glitter and then heat til melted into the card.

I stamped my image onto white cardstock, used the embossing folder with my image then I cut out the middle part to fit in the middle of my embossed glitter cardstock (so used the embossing folder twice, one on the colored cardstock and the other on the white cardstock with my image); using pop dots on the back of the image to raise it a little. You can achieve this technique with any type of embossing folders.

The image I used is Rosie Spring Flowers, its just such a lovely image for Spring and Easter.
You can find the image at Crafty Sentiments Designs Shop. She's so sweet.

I hope this gets you inspired to create some beautiful Spring or Easter cards. And join in the fun challenge "Inspired by Song" on our Crafty Sentiments Designs Challenge Blog

Happy Crafting,
